Sucheta Das, a photographer based in Kolkata (India) completed her Honors in Geography from Calcutta University. She had attended several workshops carried out by Raghu Rai, Steve McCurry and Atul Kasbekar. She has working experience over 18 years with Reuters International news agency, Gulf News, Dubai and Associated Press (AP).
Sucheta won more than 60 International and national awards including World Press Photo Golden Eye award, National Geography Award, Master Cup, Yonhap International Press Photo Award, Humanity Photo awards, Canadian International Digital Photography award, Hopkin University’s Protection Project award, Allard Prize for International integrity from University of British Columbia, European Journalism Centre, Photo Annual award, Several times World Gala award, Emirates award, Best Female Photojournalist award, National Press Photo awards, 2 times National Media Grants, 3 times awards from Ministry of External Affairs-Government of India and others…
Her image had been selected picture for book, the best of Reuters photography “The Art of Seeing 2” and one of the cover picture for Reuters 150 years Magazine. South Asia’s largest selling magazine “Better Photography” has selected her as one of the best woman photojournalist in India and they have published her work and interview in their cover story of August, 2005. Her work has been selected as “Best Photographer of 2011” at World Photographic Club in UK in the year 2012.
Sucheta had worked for several books on tribal dances for Ministry of Culture, Government of India and her images of Indian traditional folk dances published as a year calendar for Ministry of Culture, Government of India. She also works on several human interest projects for social development of developing countries. Sucheta does several workshops and discussion in all over India and abroad on photojournalism regularly and she has been selected as one of the juror in several national and international photo contests several times. She has done more than 160 solo and group exhibitions in India and abroad. Sucheta is the Director and key faculty of “Images Redefined Photography Institute” in Kolkata, India. Sucheta owns a fully operational fashion studio, connected with professional models and make-up artists for glamour, fashion, product and commercial photo session at Kolkata.

Ajitha Menon (Guest Faculty)

Ajitha Menon is a senior journalist with over two decades of experience in print and television journalism. She has a first class Masters degree in Journalism from Calcutta University. She started her career as a trainee journalist with Business Standard, moving on to Economic Times and then to Press Trust of India as a sub-editor. She joined Asian News International (ANI), India’s premier television, print and web news agency, as its Calcutta correspondent and went on to become ANI’s Kolkata Bureau Chief, a position she held for about 14 years.
Ajitha Menon is a Chevening Scholar, Cardiff University, UK and a Fulbright Fellow, University of Maryland, USA. She is also a Laadli Award Winner for gender reporting. She has been on various national and international assignments of significance, including coverage of the ASEAN Foreign Ministers Meet in Cambodia ( 2012) and the US Presidential Elections (2012).
At present she is working as a Journalist, Research and Media Consultant. She is a regular contributor to Women’s Feature Service (WFS) and her current focus is on gender issues and the development sector. She has recently contributed series of articles on climate change, environment protection, sustainable agriculture and maternal health, working is collaboration with agencies like the Indo-Global Social Service Society (IGSSS) and Oxfam. She is also a visiting faculty at the University of Calcutta for the Masters in Journalism, Post-Graduate Degree Course.
Ashok Nath Dey (Guest Faculty)

Ashok Nath Dey born in 1966 in Kolkata. He is self-taught photographer currently working for Hindustan Times, leading English daily in India, as a Dy. Chief photographer, with twenty eight years of experience. He is a commerce graduate from Calcutta University and student of fine arts. Noted painter Ramananda Bandyopadhyay had inaugurated his first solo painting show at Academy of Fine Arts in 1979. He has previously worked for the Indian Express in Kolkata & Delhi. His works have showcased in lot of national and International exhibitions, like Nehru center London etc. He has been the recipient of many national & international awards, like 4th Commonwealth Photographic contest 2003- 2004, ‘Samsung Spirit of the Asiad’ Photo contest 2002, Sports Journalist’s Association of Mumbai for Best Cricket Portrait 2007,Friends of the Earth International photo competition (Netherlands) in 2009, HPA from China in 2014, National Press Photo Award 2010 etc. Ashok Nath Dey also does fine art and project photography.
Pintu Pradhan (Guest Faculty)

Pintu Pradhan is based in Kolkata, working last 18 years in print media. He is one of the photographers who has successfully traversed between photojournalism and commercial photography. Presently he is a Chief Photographer of a Bengali Daily Khabar 365 Din.
He completed an exhaustive course on still photography and photo-journalism from Ritwik Academy, Kolkata, under the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education. He started his career with Dainik Sabyasachi and after that associated with Hindi Hindustan and Hindustan Times as a retainer. He joined as a staff photographer in Prabhat Khabar, Bengali News Paper EKDIN and The Tehelka (Kolkata). He was the chief photographer in Rajasthan Patrika. Pintu also works extensively as a commercial photographer for advertising campaigns.
Joy Mukhopadhay (Guest Faculty)

Joy Mukhopadhyay born in 1967 in Kolkata. He graduated from Calcutta University with Bio Science in 1987 and BA (History) in1992 and got his Diploma in Photography the same year from the Photographic Association of Dum Dum (PAD). He is currently working as a senior analyst in the Microbiology lab, Quality Control -Department of a renowned pharmaceutical company.
Joy’s work have been exhibited and awarded in more than 20 countries including Austria, Spain, Hungary, Japan, USA, Sri Lanka, Slovenia, Iran, Scotland, Korea and The Netherlands. He has received the prestigious honour as “Artiste FIAP” from Federation International del’art Photographique, Belgium in 2005. He won several national &international awards including National Photo Contest, UNESCO photography award, honorary mention award in WHO photo contest, 2nd prize for the photo contest organized by Calcutta Municipal Corporation, 2 nd prize in the photography contest organized by Jadavpur University photography club. His works have been exhibited twice in Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi. His work published in Japan’s Asahi Shimbun newspaper & a book named “Tiranga” published by the Govt. of India. Two of his images are part of the permanent collection at Museum International De Photografia, Afocer, Spain. He was selected as a jury member of PAB Indian Salon 2010 and Narendrapur Salon 2011. His First Solo photography exhibition was at the Gallery Gold, Kolkata in December, 2014. Presently he is working on Candid photography and Wedding Photography.

Ranjan Bhattacharya is working as a commercial photographer last 15 years in Kolkata, India. He worked with number of leading brands like Utsav Fahion Pvt Ltd. Manyavar, Praapti, Gee Pee mobile, Garden Vista Complex, Purti Complex, Pooja interiors, Laher Jewellers, Abhishek Vyas ( designer ), Minu sarees, Reliance GSM Service,www.shaadiface.com, Mala Sarees, Abhishek Creations, Cotton Blues, A.N.R. Fashion Pvt. Ltd., Paridhi Sarees etc. He had also done several fashion portfolios.

Amit Das is working as a commercial photographer more than 10 years in Kolkata, India. During childhood he went to see a magic show with his father and wanted to pursue magic for a living. At the age of 11 he couldn’t explain the difference between wizardry and real magic of light. It took decade to understand the magic what he was looking for. It’s the magic of making ordinary people look beautiful, and beautiful people look divine. It’s the magic of translating good ideas into flawless communication. It’s the magic of lights, shades, moods and moments. He worked for famous jewellery houses like Swansukha jewelers,Senco,N.P Jewelers, M.sarkar & Sons, B.sarkar, Sinjini jems & jewellers, H.K Dutta, Swarna kamal jewellers (Agartala), Saakshi fashion jewelry and many more. Indranil Ghosh is a Kolkata based commercial photographer working last 8 years. Indranil is a commerce graduate from St. Xavier’s College, Kolkata. He was very much passionate regarding photography from his childhood and had worked hard ever since to reach the position of one of the most eminent photographers in the city. In order to capture beautiful and striking images, he makes sure that the environment around him is relaxed. He accomplishes this by engaging in conversations and listening. He had worked with lot of advertising agencies like Megaminds, Decalogue, Page29, Liazo and Radiant Advertising. He also has a few brands under his wings – GKB Opticals, Citi Style, A Sarkar Jewellers, Monet Perfumes, Chique, ABP House, Unish Kuri magazine, La Lingerie, and Tollywood for few instances. He is a specialize in Advertising and Fashion Photography. He loves to share his photography tips and tricks to the future generations.

Nanda Majumder is working as a Make-up artist last 15 years in Kolkata, India. He worked with leading Production Houses like S.K Movies, Venkatesh Films, Rane Production & many More. He also worked for leading news papers & magazines like Ananda Bazar House, Ajkal, Bartaman, Anandadin, Femina,Times of India & others. Nanda worked for some leading brands like BC Sen, Parampara, D K Basak, R R Agarwal Jewellers, Balaram Basak, Minu saree, Adi Dhakeshwari Bastralaya, Palki Boutique, Spencers, Bazar Kolkata, Citi Mart. Etc.
